Intermittent fasting has been a popular method for losing weight for a long time. But just like any form of “diets”, people go ahead and look for the unique properties of this popular method that distinguish it from the other methods. In this podcast, I'll talk to Dr. Ludidi, the expert in the Netherlands in the field of fasting.

Dr. Samefko Ludidi is the author of the book 'the Dr. Ludidi fasting method', did a master's degree in metabolism and nutrition, and with his company Dr. Ludidi, he helps people achieve optimal health and performance both online and 1 on 1. He worked with Badr Hari, among others, and is currently the 'Head of nutrition' at team Qhubeka NextHash, who are currently cycling in the Tour de France.

You can rightly say that he is the man to explain the theoretical framework to us and then translate it into practice. If you had to choose a source to understand what fasting does in theory and how to successfully translate it into practice, I would go for this podcast. Samefko is very clear and transparent about fasting. He opts for health and performance, and is therefore not afraid to mention disadvantages as well.

He therefore agrees with the statement. 'Intermittent fasting is not a panacea. 'In this podcast, you will learn:

  • What forms do we know and what distinguishes them.
  • What are the short and long term advantages and disadvantages.
  • What are the health effects of fasting
  • What kind of physiological reactions do we know from research and what are still the question marks?
